Hand-Wrist Pain

Hands enable people to perform many functions in their lives, especially working, producing, painting and writing. Fine movements requiring skill, grasping, touching, feeling are high-level functions that can be performed with the hands. It is the unique anatomical structure of the hand that allows it to perform such complex movements. Only one hand has 27 bones, many muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerve branches. Disorders of these tissues can lead to pain and significant loss of function in the hand.
