Frozen Shoulder Treatment in Turkey

Frozen shoulder syndrome causes pain and limitation of movement in the shoulder. Symptoms are initially mild. However, if treatment is not sought, symptoms worsen and complaints increase. Although there are many different causes of frozen shoulder, the cause is usually unknown.

Conditions that can cause frozen shoulder are as follows:

  • Rotator cuff injury
  • In shoulder fractures, the arm remains immobilized for a long time
  • Partial paralysis
  • Diabetes
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Goiter disease

Your doctor will first perform a physical examination for diagnosis. It tries to determine how your shoulder movements are. X-rays, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and ultrasound are then performed to reach a clearer diagnosis.

Frozen shoulder can resolve spontaneously in three years. However, since this period is very long, patients often prefer to seek treatment. Otherwise, limited and painful shoulder movements greatly reduce the quality of life.

Treatment methods for frozen shoulder are as follows:

  • Physical therapy
  • Exercises
  • Medication
  • Injections
  • Surgical method

Non-surgical methods are primarily preferred for frozen shoulder. If no progress is achieved with these methods, it may be necessary to resort to surgery. Shoulder arthroscopy (closed surgery) is an operation for frozen shoulder. It is performed through small incisions and does not interfere with healthy areas. For these reasons, the healing process is more comfortable and less pain is felt. At Turan Turan Health Center, you can have shoulder arthroscopy (closed surgery) and recover from frozen shoulder.
